It doesn’t come to stores until August 17th, but today you can purchase it for <a href="http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003V91FKG/sr=8-1/qid=1279638707/ref=sr_1_1_digr?ie=UTF8&qid=1279638707&sr=8-1" target="_blank">$6.99 on amazon</a> or through <a href="http://itunes.apple.com/us/album/feeler/id381440553" target="_blank">iTunes</a> with a bonus beatles cover <a href="http://itunes.apple.com/us/album/feeler/id381440553" target="_blank">for $9.99</a>. Ever since I heard about Feeler I had hoped that one day it would get released, the toadies have without a doubt grown to be one of my absolute favorite 90’s bands. I do have many favorites from the 90’s but they would be in my top 5. So today to celebrate the release of their sophomore album finally getting released I’m posting demos I found through a forum (the toadies forum?) only within the last year, enjoy!</p> <p><a href="http://www.mediafire.com/file/cjsma25b11d8wfp/FeelerDemos.zip" target="_blank">Toadies – 1997 Feeler Demos</a></p> Chrishttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12868332368633237657noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7975930856423522190.post-8735433251985791032010-07-13T06:01:00.001-07:002010-07-13T06:27:13.888-07:00The blow you didn’t even ask for<p><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjURKPWUGkxXlurNIrixVFddHvym3CRjGprKCwdBMDL6Isp3XY9VRgeAi9NoPXIAIsl7lL3UOkrdjigOmoCuQc6LYfuPsF-OTY1Tu2HHZtVUVY5MbiAApEIkKxZmH5uDlzQx1ogoDEXYHux/s1600-h/blowpar%5B5%5D.jpg"><img style="border-right-width: 0px; margin: 0px 0px 0px 5px; display: inline; border-top-width: 0px; border-bottom-width: 0px; border-left-width: 0px" title="blowpar" border="0" alt="blowpar" align="right" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiuKhMR5VXzFVtevTVNLNRj_byzfq3gaBKTkIcCMkMwg0EIvwaXZX1hTvdfGQhiYxg5ClOGBZmI_nBw5F8045RwfIDVNLFw0zA0SYkNK3gCXSI0Sr101VvAeOXGyiZJXHFwlp34Sbp3s-We/?imgmax=800" width="238" height="240" /></a>The other day my friend Eric & I made a digital mix that I’ll be posting pretty soon, and we’re going to try and do them like every two weeks. We wanted to do a podcast but I was having problems with recording music and us and since I do all the editing it was just far too frustrating for me to edit. So instead I think we’re going to do digital mixes with vinyl records only. I’ll have that that posted this week.</p> <p>So until then I have a couple of fun vinyl pieces that I haven’t seen around the net at all, and I swore I used to see the Parentheses EP on the iTunes store or something. So enjoy some exclusive blow remixes & B-sides.</p> <p>Personal note: I like the parentheses remixes better then any of the ones from the 12” or Poor Aim re-release.</p> <table border="0" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="2" width="400"><tbody> <tr> <td valign="top" width="68">The Blow:</td> <td valign="top" width="332"><a href="http://www.mediafire.com/file/xmhmdw4iwzz/blowParenthesesEP.zip" target="_blank">Parentheses EP</a> <br /><a href="http://www.mediafire.com/file/t235mzngkyz/blow-ltic.zip">The Love That I Crave 12” Maxi-Single</a> <br /><a href="http://www.mediafire.com/file/yzymwaqymjj/blowalpha.zip" target="_blank">Alphabet Single Series K</a> <br /></td> </tr> </tbody></table>Chrishttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12868332368633237657noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7975930856423522190.post-74578579166082717182010-06-30T11:37:00.001-07:002010-06-30T11:37:52.274-07:00Jacked Up Meat<p><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgs0dts53WYP93wY_ASnQ1oe33flAZzJrcQbQI1KuHQGxYvMHBeQCm4C6v2hzfQJ4vVKE9bkPTqDsZjyOCFivv7RvmiCn8Abc8whNOcIOPc0BZZHtGMwIFHhAH1f41e3OQHMzDDYV5_ESt-/s1600-h/aim%5B11%5D.jpg"><img style="border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; display: inline; margin-left: 0px; border-top: 0px; margin-right: 0px; border-right: 0px" title="aim" border="0" alt="aim" align="right" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgp79Af_knvhjW0yFxj0Hj6N42iwVjH0PxRIqou2TF_hdh9PeJic9Y-oidW9-eaEr8YZyDy4-cpDVEM3f_Ugs4L9T7Ppb4uhmzOw-s-hFGoNJUQbjHWdQNMJVpGKON4R2qIaEriOgxwpOlQ/?imgmax=800" width="156" height="244" /></a>I love demo cassettes, I also love special cassette only albums or eps. I just love something that can make a release more unique. I don’t think that this album gained anything by being on cassette. However, for the time it came out (1996) it didn’t hurt it all that much either, I was definitely still listening to tapes up until 2001 and as much as possible beyond that. So this is a full length album only released on cassette from Baltimore metal crazies. Maybe their stoner rock, maybe their like the melvins and they don’t give a fuck. either way, they put out great heavy distorted pissed off  music. </p> <p><a href="http://www.mediafire.com/file/51dnmtw2ozm/Meatjack.zip">Meatjack – Aim</a> </p> <p>also for metal lovers, this album was produced by Meatjack <strong><u>&</u></strong> Steve Austin</p> <p>check out <a href="http://www.meatjack.com">meatjack’s</a> website, which is still operational and has tons of good info about them and their current projects</p> Chrishttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12868332368633237657noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7975930856423522190.post-2747438258222298182010-06-04T19:50:00.001-07:002010-06-04T19:50:00.913-07:00Boiling Man, Broken Man<p><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi0KNAhzI4MteS3k5SzrJB0TiED62-H8y2wNnUeZWRmtrPc25dfmZ2TDHcK8o6r_Fe12cNvXIPrvkhXFVzCcyj3clsWkdVlYpisB0lVQJS6cKt9m1xSAlQ4QhoTSuknj-PpF4S0OYo-oIgz/s1600-h/boilingman%5B12%5D.jpg"><img style="border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; margin: 0px 10px 0px 0px; display: inline; border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px" title="boilingman" border="0" alt="boilingman" align="left" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiOUn50fJbfu9ReBNujDLf7pwE4AYlh2F43S0txmbzl5RDliFT1RmsP1v-T3bszvJjvmY7PYwzssTYAf5NQ47vWfIqahtHfkg7Uqb0G-2-eFGOw5MM5KSX-kMiD30lilUyPwrDWibo9vXO2/?imgmax=800" width="240" height="236" /></a> </p> <p>Earlier today I mentioned on twitter <a href="http://www.myspace.com/boilingman">Boiling Man’s</a> “Roadkill Museum” EP. I always find myself coming back to, I don’t necessarily know why its nothing too special except just really good crusty punk songs. With lyrics I can get down with, I’m not one for drinking or getting high and I am vegetarian and I do believe in the straight edge ways of life. So really that's a lot of ground to cover. </p> <p>In this zip file I included Boiling Man’s EP as well as their Split with Broken and two compilation tracks one from each band. I haven’t seen a whole lot of Boiling Man or <a href="http://www.myspace.com/brokenct">Broken</a> on other blogs so hopefully someone thats been looking will find this and enjoy it as much as I do.</p> <p><a href="http://www.mediafire.com/file/ezzdglcwmjv/BoilingManBroken.zip">Boiling Man “Roadkill Museum” EP & More!</a></p> Chrishttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12868332368633237657noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7975930856423522190.post-21156615775812394822010-05-17T10:48:00.000-07:002010-05-17T10:49:59.706-07:00For fun: the first 2 90's B-Side Mixes<div>I thought it was quite fun sharing my 3rd part to my b-side mix series so here's the first two. </div><div><br /></div><div>Best of the 90's: The B-Sides, Disc 1</div><div>1. Today I finalized a third collection, about 2-3 years after the first two. I know I tried in the past to create new ones but I hated all the transitions and even some of the tracks. </div><div><br /></div><div>I do have some guide lines for these types of mixes, </div><div>1. Must have been released in the 90's.</div><div>2. The mix should be around 60 minutes, like a mix tape. (i know some cassettes ran longer but standardly it was 60min tapes) </div><div>3. I don't think I have more then 2 rules for this one. </div><div><br /></div><div>the past ones don't have any artwork or anything for them, because their for personal use so yanno I don't really go through the extra effort. However, I was thinking of making a "Boxed Set" version of them. I thought it would be fun. </div><div><br /></div><div>I only included one source for each track but some of these definitely have multiple sources. Like "Burn" by <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nine_inch_nails">NIN</a> was also released on the <a href="http://www.discogs.com/Nine-Inch-Nails-The-Downward-Spiral-Deluxe-Edition/release/352665">Deluxe Edition</a> of <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Downward_Spiral">The Downward Spiral</a>, also this is important, the version of <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Smash_Mouth">Smash Mouth</a>'s "Sorry About Your Penis" is the fast punk rock version not the Lounge version released on the <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Orgazmo">Orgazmo</a> Soundtrack</div><div><br /></div><div>Best of the 90's: The B-Sides, Part 3</div><div>1. Queens of the Stone Age "Born to Hula" - Kyuss Split</div><div>5. Butthole Surfers "Pottery" - Escape from LA OST</div><div>6. The Melvins "Instant Larry" - Demon Knight OST</div><div>7. Violent Femmes "Color Me Once" - The Crow OST</div><div>8. Stabbing Westward "Dawn" - Escape From LA OST</div><div>9. Garbage "#1 Crush" - Romeo & Juliet OST</div><div>10. Both of which are really freaking awesome, what these tracks and some other stuff I've heard the album seems like it might be the best thing since <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Around_the_Fur">Around the </a><a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/White_Pony">Pony</a>. As a teenager I really loved the Deftones angsty music & poetically drunk lyrics, they truely understood the loud-quiet-loud formula that nirvana perfected and added in a pinch of rap influence. So if you were ever interested in the Deftones, seriously.. check out the <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Diamond_Eyes">new album "Diamond Eyes"</a>. I think its going to be good. <a href="http://oneloveforchi.com/">also much love to Chi</a>, who's been in a coma since 2008 due to a car accident. I always loved Chi, couldn't really tell you why... I just liked what he played and how he presented himself. I didn't know him personally but I definitely appreciated him in any way I possibly could.<br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg3ZbDIbABKtN79eXJgofoC5BuOxXo3voUJOYlcSiQl3fvkrhISB54sd5IssJe49ReSGX0mzW0evnpuLxe138EzZu10I295W9OhyphenhyphenXm6-lRYAOBOhr-g_QK3WKz4AbgSUUkNZkKRgD1LqEE/s1600/8.jpg"><img style="margin: 0pt 0pt 10px 10px; float: right; cursor: pointer; width: 200px; height: 200px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg3ZbDIbABKtN79eXJgofoC5BuOxXo3voUJOYlcSiQl3fvkrhISB54sd5IssJe49ReSGX0mzW0evnpuLxe138EzZu10I295W9OhyphenhyphenXm6-lRYAOBOhr-g_QK3WKz4AbgSUUkNZkKRgD1LqEE/s200/8.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5454903621418596498" border="0" /></a>now onto a newer group, <a href="http://www.myspace.com/saintseneca">Saintseneca</a>. I came across this group searching for old Reflector stuff from a label called <a href="http://paperbrigade.com/">Paper Brigade</a>, apparently that label is doing stuff again... like putting out amaziny records from this group. They're super <a href="http://www.amazon.com/Saintseneca-EP/dp/B002JS83ZA/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=dmusic&qid=1270068287&sr=8-1">limited s/t 7" </a>is curretly out of print but is still available for download from all the right venues (as well as the paper brigade website) and more importantly they just released a new EP called "<a href="http://saintseneca.tumblr.com/">Grey Flag</a>" which isn't the same pace as the first ep but is just as catchy and addicting. Seriously, if you like acoustic music or music that makes you feel good or music that takes you and throws you into a group people singing for love and passion and music then download/purchase, listen, and repeat.<br /><br />Enjoy Friends<br /><br /><a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p6ZP8WuYtog">Saintseneca "God bones"</a> (youtube)<br /><a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=woR6ohiFeYE">Deftones "Rocket Skates"</a> (youtube)Chrishttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06799187314691894206noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7975930856423522190.post-23262643317341181092010-03-05T21:01:00.001-08:002010-03-05T21:03:06.757-08:00Samuel, son of Hannah<p><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjw_1fddUlx9C1sUuWZdWJqp4GRajAmtpe-cRRJD1gjNaLNYOXBEzzM0z5GZ1aZ1If_qlgM88baaH-a-HGVgMhiRR5m7aRHvSXbhworNP43WoH3Jv7HL35-I7W57LFQOEwZpzWglODegSGR/s1600-h/samuel%5B12%5D.jpg"><img style="border-right-width: 0px; margin: 0px 0px 0px 5px; display: inline; border-top-width: 0px; border-bottom-width: 0px; border-left-width: 0px" title="samuel" border="0" alt="samuel" align="right" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgCkTXaP0pOPQOpvfS-zSsPpIzjoQ1cOj7UYUd1ziALIlWnh63VEy13Hv1KkxxBe_80tO9RtfmIf37RUE1mQfXzKOUhmclHyI4Xcz4l5MOIWpKw960YcQQk29OIT6fw5kd9-WrmjBEgSQbY/?imgmax=800" width="240" height="238" /></a>I don’t know too much about Samuel, I haven’t even ever done any real research on them, just enough to know that they put out two 7”s, and one split with Texas is the Reason. They also did a CDEP version of lives of insects that had a couple of extra tracks (that could very well be the other 7” and track from the TitR split. However I do know that they have a lot of passion in their simple indie rock songs. They actually hailed from PA so a little home-state pride with this one, although I never knew that until after collecting their 7”s. You definitely didn't read that wrong. It's a fairly horrible soundtrack however has one gem amongst the rough. An exclusive version of the Foo Fighters cover version of "Have A Cigar" with Brian May. I actually already have the Foo covering this track on a Learn to Fly single, however I never knew about this alternate version until yesterday. So I decided since it was a great surprise to me it would probably be a great surprise to many others, and also its a rather good cover. So for your enjoyment I posted both the soundtrack version & the single version.<div><br /></div><div><a href="http://www.mediafire.com/file/omwyjkkmutr/2-03%20Have%20A%20Cigar%20(Pink%20Floyd).mp3">Foo Fighters "Have A Cigar" from the Learn to Fly Single</a></div><div>& <a href="http://www.mediafire.com/file/nynoyqz2n21/06%20Have%20A%20Cigar%20(Pink%20Floyd,%20Featuri.mp3">Foo Fighters "Have A Cigar" (featuring Brian May) from the M:I-2 soundtrack</a></div>Chrishttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06799187314691894206noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7975930856423522190.post-9442306831847221742010-01-19T18:30:00.001-08:002010-03-31T13:56:26.282-07:00Apples in Stereo are blasting through your radio<p></p> <p><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjIWOkfi9-mPVNkmlWU0WULoDKJcgS_Kix8Wardk5CtMQJ3BIzVz9mkuaCG-b5bDR5nWoZ10hzd3eVt8QE5t0Qh_katDqZkroq52_DhxWedIfy9X2TZApRsP8lLnKq9YrYREC-ZDSPkC6Zd/s1600-h/R-907580-1195093055%5B2%5D.jpg"><img style="border-width: 0px; margin: 0px 5px 0px 0px; display: inline;" title="R-907580-1195093055" alt="R-907580-1195093055" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjbRbzlIAqjx6QenM_3sr1MHN4IRYUw_gn636c-Q9Qa24dk5RRLDD81gMGlq2MdqaQa2pzoRSJUeCTr8mF-tMsFsj63MyqcqPwUDLlAyiUuCKiQmVLWVDj1tI8IDSS06qj_ZMKhZk8TDZ6S/?imgmax=800" width="240" align="left" border="0" height="232" /></a> </p> <p>So it’s been a while, and I decided to come back with a pop rock bang. Really Apples in Stereo put out one of my favorite albums of 2008 and I had no clue until 2009. Helen & I were living near the Jersey Shore at her Grandmothers place and I remember it wasn’t too long after Helen started her Princeton job and she was so excited to not be trekking it to NYC every day from small town Belmar. So of course she wanted to blow some cash on some awesome records, and recently I had heard that Jeff Mangum played drums on this album and so we got that and probably 4 other vinyl records. This album is like a 24 song pop masterpiece (especially the first like 8 songs). Well everyone it’s time for <a href="http://www.hulu.com/better-off-ted">Better Off Ted</a>, so I’m gonna just get to the link already, enjoy this lil’ bit of pop awesomeness. and if you’ve got a couple bucks <a href="http://www.amazon.com/New-Magnetic-Wonder/dp/B000TGJ0CY/ref=sr_shvl_album_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1263954545&sr=301-2">go get the record</a> these b-sides are from (if you don’t already have it).</p> <p><a href="http://www.mediafire.com/file/mna2zzjndnj/AiS-NMWEP.zip">Apples in Stereo “New Magnetic Wonder” Bonus EP!</a></p> <p>10:38pm <br />I realized I probably just rambled before without getting a chance to edit any of what I wrote before (not that i do a lot of that) so here’s a bonus treat from the Vinyl version of New Magnetic Wonder, and also one of my favorite Apples in Stereo Songs <a href="http://www.mediafire.com/file/0ddtmwyknlm/07%20Atom%20Bomb.mp3">“Atom Bomb”</a></p>Chrishttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12868332368633237657noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7975930856423522190.post-46672881910499311022009-11-12T13:54:00.001-08:002010-03-31T13:56:42.151-07:00Irresistable Ruby Oso<p><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjqgy0tJdPuZLdysnAffU1dZzmbUXqZkCVtTraqWBNHvx22ZSZNSFcvIOi2nNaN4tR6ov69gfjm5Alz7oSkNAe060EV9N17Lp5DjVykePRHBrgTTnYYQszNPzEz73njGtE6QN1gweDTUm3w/s1600-h/band_oso2%5B4%5D.gif"><img style="border-width: 0px; margin: 0px 5px 0px 0px; display: inline;" title="band_oso2" alt="band_oso2" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiX8g8C5oVZiyCEQOdZCbfkIKmFuGf07Vb8OHkRohZGAJYDzGVRXLtmWjZFJo08YB90dGh6BgBODKFTjiPcsm741wmwOgpgezMK4QpAscUjComaKNice_4lUtx2DAv9UFLX3RcZu6sLVATe/?imgmax=800" width="240" align="left" border="0" height="240" /></a> </p> <p>My girlfriend got me into these guys… the only song that was ever on my radar was Circles but I specifically remember hearing a radio DJ talking about them in the 90’s I remember where I was and where I was going but I have no clue what he said about them. maybe that was their bigger problem.. people just not paying enough attention. </p> <p>Anyway, they wrote beautiful music and these are some strange tunes I found in a lovely torrent of basically all of their b-sides.. which I actually own most of from their original sources. They have some others like the Sinatra cover they did and something with a needle in the title but whatever, I found these and wanted to share them with you. </p> <p>I excluded one track that I thought was a strange addition, the song M. Doughty did with BT. if anyone's interested I'll throw up the single for that with like 5 or 6 different mixes I just don’t think it necessarily belongs on a Soul Coughing b-sides collection cause the rest of the dudes didn’t have anything to do with it. Also, if your going to include that one on the b-side compilation why not the song he did with 808 State? ENJOY!</p> <p><a href="http://www.mediafire.com/?didf2ezzgmd">Soul Coughing “Beside”</a> (i gave this some cover art and a better title then “studio b-sides”)</p>Chrishttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12868332368633237657noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7975930856423522190.post-23277512447387444472009-11-01T20:57:00.001-08:002009-11-02T04:54:18.160-08:00As Real as Mary Lou Lord<table border="0" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="2" width="710"><tbody> <tr> <td valign="top" width="708"> <p><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi4UaO-3P4oYN4saoC5DUi70x4vsadE5f8aCZ-eR-wYHG2LByouKnR55PudiUGINS6Feq8WZLiwzK7BSkqaJHBCatFl8cfawFWV99ojWQgpbuMAb0Q0tGVWhrdwgxa3BuQ_FBGCesaKMZzM/s1600-h/maryloulord-real-sm%5B3%5D.jpg"><img style="border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; margin: 0px 5px 0px 0px; display: inline; border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px" title="maryloulord-real-sm" border="0" alt="maryloulord-real-sm" align="left" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj_xOMfZquSeBSDqeRdOHWTB_WjjRdcK7CgqgIUy1pfXkKJQp6o-bD5Um0vYQClacvpObvC8sfzzQHh_htZOrv7pT1iQPpln3JBjJRxuceMYN6gVjp3c9KtXew2O1wkztrB5ipOk1retyAU/?imgmax=800" width="240" height="312" /></a> So while searching for cassettes at awesome record stores in Boston earlier this year Helen & I came across this crazy find in a little shop called <a href="http://www.iye.com/html_index.cfm?page=home" target="_blank">In Your Ear</a> which had an interesting selection or used vinyl, cds, cassettes and whatever else. I remember we found some awesome stuff like <strong>Heatmiser</strong>, <strong>Wallflowers</strong> (unsure if this is was awesome), and of course the find on our left <strong>Mary Lou Lord</strong>’s extremely hard to find first album only ever released on cassette “Real”. Today I felt like seeing if the soundcard on my computer was gonna be friendly and let me easily transfer it to my iTunes and SUCCESS!</p> <p>This album is really a great collection of songs and the only place I’ve ever seen her cover a nirvana song. Like most of Lord’s releases this contains a few originals like “<em>Not Necessarily the Bubonic Plague</em>” & “<em>Memories of You</em>” but its also riddled with covers (and one song that might’ve been written for her???? – “<em>Walkin’ On Air”</em>) a good amount of these covers have ended up on her live album or compilations but there is also a fair share that are exclusive. So enjoy this lil’ blast down memory lane on multiple levels.</p> </td> </tr> <tr> <td valign="top" width="708"> <p><strong><a href="http://www.mediafire.com/file/mmxn3gmmedd/mll-real.zip" target="_blank">Mary Lou Lord “Real” cassette</a></strong></p> <ol> <li>Andalucia (john cale)</li> <li>Smells LIke Teen Spirit (nirvana)</li> <li>Thirteen (big star)</li> <li>Not Necessarily The Bubonic Plague</li> <li>St. Swithens Day (billy bragg)</li> <li>Eternal Circle (bob dylan)</li> <li>Memories of You</li> <li>Can You Fool (allman brothers band)</li> <li>Please Be With Me (scott boyer)</li> <li>Only Business (rain parade)</li> <li>Walkin’ On Air (schulman)</li> <li>That’s The Way (led zeppelin)</li> <li>London Bridges</li> </ol> </td> </tr> </tbody></table> Chrishttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12868332368633237657noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7975930856423522190.post-31602915619722836972009-10-22T11:45:00.001-07:002009-11-01T20:54:49.404-08:00Sole Survivor<p><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgKpcXI44vilGdVRBiqNcqIcAx3-LTqgBhG6_ELJLTk1_c2sPWAzy0OcKliRwvI0BmTdRxOw7HsCTo9pNf4y0B9qM7hSrZqRKtWL_F5wcDn1nkhLLfyLBjVxTNW7XzcqE79PgKuYgflVkYY/s1600-h/souls1b%5B6%5D.jpg"><img style="border-right-width: 0px; display: inline; border-top-width: 0px; border-bottom-width: 0px; margin-left: 0px; border-left-width: 0px; margin-right: 0px" title="souls1b" border="0" alt="souls1b" align="right" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEghZHccOjQM5r7H7HdgYZLxYRAWK6IFw2U4Uofr12PSIUggslJBRbsJ4mJdWrCQ57koihedMkTuqolnkHGyalt-O6lbXNICrpSGkKBlh_8AWfQvJVEtAYzA2hG8rZot8VN0qu6kuBA3R514/?imgmax=800" width="260" height="180" /></a>When I was younger I had dreams of having a thriving indie label (and record store) but those failed miserably. Before I ended that venture I managed to put out a cd, a 7” and a cassette tape. Alison Ranger, The Dekline & Fairmont (the lesser known one from pa that pre-dated minor times). At one point I also thought I would create a zine that would include mini 3” cd-r samplers. The first sampler being my labels sampler (along with an exclusive track from Mark Price, the 2nd guitarist of fairmont). I also thought it was artsy or dreamy or cool to put samples from movies in there. so here’s my lil’ sampler of the once sorta thriving Sole Survivor (previously Stage God) Records. </p> <p><a href="http://www.mediafire.com/file/wm0jngnzmmz/SoleSurvivor.rar" target="_blank">Sole Survivor Sampler 2002</a></p>Chrishttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12868332368633237657noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7975930856423522190.post-56418484554679400292009-10-13T21:45:00.001-07:002009-11-01T20:55:04.464-08:00This one goes out to my boys Alex & Nick<p><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjap6xJomXXXF38-grWCqv3YDBrD5SP9_I8tP0BlykvS2BGsxIqW-uRE7Ck8cr6xHD7R2GmB-WIgZ_O8SJnQMmKn_ccIfOllrA58fL8qbJw5yVBWhIPQ68Qy8-phHmdqzxGKhANQzdAC6Vn/s1600-h/crass%5B6%5D.gif"><img style="border-right-width: 0px; margin: 0px 10px 0px 0px; display: inline; border-top-width: 0px; border-bottom-width: 0px; border-left-width: 0px" title="crass" border="0" alt="crass" align="left" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgQ5zv9CyF0laq81wl0YEpFjQF7lMaHIfy8HCCw39iG0asdcPMYVtK51XzSzyzCYpa7v7XICm3v7ODxc45Ih2Nc7UGGgD2CFd59rgdTvPc_WEO5LkOV94FiDt7N0Y1dRSWE88aM9pJ6tPOW/?imgmax=800" width="240" height="320" /></a> </p> <p></p> <p> </p> <p><a href="http://www.box.net/shared/k62t56ge9h" target="_blank">Big hands</a> by Crass Recreated by Holy Mountain</p> <p>just importing some music and remembered hearing this gem on a mix tape ten trillion times. except, the <a href="http://www.box.net/shared/n9l20k7dfn" target="_blank">original version</a>. </p>Chrishttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12868332368633237657noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7975930856423522190.post-43949391111972700482009-10-06T11:15:00.001-07:002009-11-01T20:54:26.821-08:00What Would a Wookie Do?!?<p><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjwOuIxlcC9L4Di1-b3jiLs38IJnWGons1UVN8wVG2TCC5Mrcn6an1w2tpE51i3lsxikhoR4AWTr1zg7MUbGg7pSz-mE4MlaQcjoMQtclQMaTp4bDZ3AJLFce2_XoyW9H3QzmFW1hHz0_SS/s1600-h/wookie1%5B11%5D.jpg"><img style="border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; display: inline; border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px" title="wookie1" border="0" alt="wookie1" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjfbI8Z1d6wBshTU_AkcCX7O5_U2QU4I1PoAcnbyNZrSclDBbHO9RMDE5Br8GonvHV7A0Is5KmE3wm5X1ESIpn36sxOQ9rl2ebEpmFBZKQHw5xmaWvDt4YhYUrMa6miHi9a4LMMymetgPaF/?imgmax=800" width="350" height="280" /></a> </p> <p><strong>Clutch</strong> <em>“</em><a href="http://www.mediafire.com/?fjfmoiej25n" target="_blank"><em>What Would a Wookie Do?</em></a><em>” <br /></em>I absolutely love this song, <br />Enjoy! <br /><em>”The Wookies Wicked Clutch!”</em></p>Chrishttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12868332368633237657noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7975930856423522190.post-62325026660546314282009-10-02T23:12:00.001-07:002009-11-01T20:55:15.062-08:00Annoying Nirvana<p><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjXcyVvZYlrmZg47qKAQgnqzQI31evb7w4et42qbam04oTAFpXDNdisn1p6B0XE9epNao57-xPhDGwYum_tWRAzyRF-n__XbXR5wgNvkxxUe2eu2l3k2Pi4SkgrorxCrirx34uRkTcO9Mqf/s1600-h/illustration_12444713264.jpg"><img style="border-right-width: 0px; margin: 0px 0px 5px 5px; display: inline; border-top-width: 0px; border-bottom-width: 0px; border-left-width: 0px" title="illustration_1244471326" border="0" alt="illustration_1244471326" align="right" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhEs4zU-X-I7btz8H9UclmPfqsJvYIdJu8CmLVYqS-7FM_tD0hEgttiFgQIZRdM7hcpeavZyAR-Co-RZTmZRGn5eZuMUst3UgyNhIHQgYsk9uioxQzC3nO7RHxqLx8aKIlvP9HlobFD2bYc/?imgmax=800" width="240" height="271" /></a>So I decided to add a couple more tracks after going through and making an extensive playlist of b-sides that weren’t included on <em>Insecticide</em>. Which is ALL I have been listening to for days on end. Especially <strong>Chemical Brothers</strong>, then I started breaking into some <strong>Roni Size</strong> (& one of my favorite <strong>Roni</strong> <strong>Size</strong> projects <strong>Breakbeat Era</strong>), as well as <strong>Dub Pistols</strong> & my favorite… <strong>Underworld</strong>. But today felt different, so I broke out some <strong>Nirvana</strong>, imported all the albums & singles I could find and threw on some compilation tracks. </p> <p><strong>Nirvana</strong>’s releases have always bothered me a little, the main albums are awesome (however, <em>Bleach</em> isn’t my favorite as some would think) but as far as collecting their leftovers, I always thought it was really sloppy. Especially for a band that had supposedly made such a huge impact. I guess its all the legalities with everything not being handled by the main members. At least there is <em>Insecticide</em>. Today I’m going to throw at you some b-sides that I always thought it was a shame that the original versions weren’t more accessible. <a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj_wL1UJNuZDH-WhG50UpWJ1MD8tEobGKh4wl4Nl9zaROIgxOH29aLpom7KvEEQ_nVOLw2WEkxNn757-YdaFzdnu-4iV3i7bOiBxdqwjzTIjBzuE-AGujL3J-o87p7z_iaGw7YM6YMbiFdv/s1600-h/subpop200%5B12%5D.jpg"><img style="border-right-width: 0px; display: inline; border-top-width: 0px; border-bottom-width: 0px; margin-left: 0px; border-left-width: 0px; margin-right: 0px" title="subpop200" border="0" alt="subpop200" align="right" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEii7UXzyLR9CFnRh54ptwsipn6i_7lfddhW7UTl6TRO2BoH_ON1iqb_ccYVMN4KZ1d0vyRYLeyGGUJ7jKDt_CIVbV7FjACrffyKYWOqR96BOBxYQSfDe2-NkCiJq3EpRsAY4o25kBN8FJZ5/?imgmax=800" width="212" height="280" /></a> This version of <em>Spank Thru</em> is the only one I actually like, which is a little depressing seeing that it is only available on the <em>Sub Pop 200</em> comp and I’ve never seen it on any collections.</p> <p><strong><em>Come As You Are</em> [Single]/<em>Nevermind<span style="font-size:78%;"> </span></em></strong><span style="font-size:78%;">(vinyl & some cd versions) <br /></span><a href="http://www.mediafire.com/?yz4wjmfyyem" target="_blank">Endless, Nameless</a></p> <p><strong><em>Sub Pop 200 Compilation <br /></em></strong><a href="http://www.mediafire.com/?zjz2dmnjznz" target="_blank">Spank Thru</a> (studio version)</p> <p><strong><em>Heart Shaped Box</em> [Single] <br /></strong><a href="http://www.mediafire.com/?km22oilnmil" target="_blank">Moise Vagina</a> (studio)</p> <p>Enjoy Friends!</p> <p>----11:41pm update------- <br />There are apparently TWO <strong>Nirvana</strong> releases coming out on the same fucking day. <u>November 3rd</u> will apparently be <strong>Nirvana</strong> “Live” Day because <em>Bleach</em> is being reissued with a bonus live disc with a show from ‘90 and also an infamous show (that I've never heard of where Kurt apparently came out in a wheelchair) <em>..at Reading</em> is being re-mastered and released with a CD/DVD version and single cd or single DVD version. Not anything really in comparison to their first LP. Which<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhCvN3TOOdu-10IdcqYQuHzMkkbC6hyOhnpAnMsY11cd7uFgaUuZhyBXyfZqqsOoYMeTk2m4I96EhQYx3Gh-hxaNQKqGKLSdyHHfKKEEolATX1XjI69yN2A-ZGiIp1hqKbEM0CTQ_g2_ADt/s1600-h/jeremy%5B7%5D.jpg"><img style="border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; margin: 5px 0px 0px 5px; display: inline; border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px" title="jeremy" border="0" alt="jeremy" align="right" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjDS54uZNSKlaK8R9QpWcVAwyyNEmfCohUgNemXQUuA2vVN6uFYddZG5HryIE8OLSZCcYFk-R07IngQ5Uv2RH95fxORfZ2MoiMoBo8LHzfXRZmRokaf3iUwfH-ZqhgavoYdCJ_2r1iwRNmZ/?imgmax=800" width="240" height="160" /></a> truely is loaded with a ton of gems. Now <strong>Editors</strong>, I just heard the new single from them <em>Papillon</em> and I'm so disappointed with whats going on that I can't even post it. Maybe it will grow on me. but as of right now I don't care for it. </p> <p>Also I won't be able to see <strong>Sunny Day Real Estate</strong> on their reunion tour... which I would absolutely love to goto, However I am going to see Far (which for me is probably more important). So because I do love <strong>SDRE's</strong> LP's (even rising tide was enjoyable) I'm gonna throw some OOP <strong>SDRE</strong> love your way. thanks for readin' friends.</p> <p></p> <p></p> <p></p> <p></p> <p></p> <p></p> <p><strong><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjlMll7xtWPh1_lCRLboCF_74hWK4GtdC98nUEfOlLrRIKHKIRmBhXXT4z2_Qe5M73VKxQBi3B94eKQfviV8BJhYZ5jDExPdG8Ja5irwB6y7tSxqPkzoudg9A7o93nGZiNCrfRyRLAyuYjT/s1600-h/tsmap%5B8%5D.jpg"><img style="border-bottom: 0px; I know one of these tracks ended up on a single for “<a href="http://www.mediafire.com/?iy2gmbmdtkt">California</a>”, the most popular (i think) <strong>Wax</strong> track out there. However I find “<a href="http://www.mediafire.com/?mmbwnocumdn">Mallrats</a>” far more memorable or even the three songs from the <em>Bio-Dome</em> soundtrack, but whatever I’m sure the 2min of watching a man run on fire sparked some teenage interest in the mid 90’s. They also did a rendition of  <em>Ren & Stimply’s</em> “<a href="http://www.mediafire.com/?ong0lj4zynz">Happy, Happy, Joy, Joy</a>” for <em>Saturday Morning Cartoon’s Greatest Hits.</em></p> <p><strong>Wax’s</strong> 2nd and probably more well known album <em>13 Unlucky Numbers</em> is quite a find. I never used to think so, in fact I remember finding many testimonies to its horrendousness back in the day, but anything I ever said about that album after revisiting a lot of 90’s bands a couple years back I completely take back. You can find it relatively cheap in used and bargin bins as well as Amazon of course. so go find it check out the tracks I posted and have some fun.</p> <p></p> <p align="right"><strong>Wax random stuff</strong> <br /><a href="http://www.mediafire.com/?iy2gmbmdtkt">California</a> <br /><a href="http://www.mediafire.com/?mmbwnocumdn">Mallrats</a> <br /><a href="http://www.mediafire.com/?ong0lj4zynz">Happy, Happy, Joy, Joy</a></p> <p align="right">and check out their <a href="http://www.myspace.com/waxtheband">myspace</a>??</p> Chrishttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12868332368633237657noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7975930856423522190.post-66912027109531801202009-07-29T15:29:00.001-07:002009-11-01T21:10:55.117-08:00The Refreshments Go Lo<p><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgY7T2StH3rtLxRFs4WksWCyDCZvaecVR6eg1SoU5JSkCficbWlTRS_bV_nVBfERNXnwCEqZwBSuJZ8S8za5jDRIlZF09XWVctMn-5hF37tafhLTvcxzwsfcl-sw-miPfV3VAzP-kI0jwZk/s1600-h/group%5B4%5D.jpg"><img style="border-right-width: 0px; margin: 0px 5px 0px 0px; display: inline; border-top-width: 0px; border-bottom-width: 0px; border-left-width: 0px" title="group" border="0" alt="group" align="left" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhqvstTHHHkTc6DsbiXEiEQDwhKVknhZ5DKv2di7y_ZVXDuTu63HomLrSFIym7DT_uSys8nwk4jLeBmVomEvz_KJR1rfCzYrE4-4u2fImDTGVAyqTwxqf0g9T_PbgX2axb_l6f4KSO077OR/?imgmax=800" width="248" height="169" /></a> </p> <p>So I wasn’t a huge fan of <strong>the</strong> <strong>Refreshments</strong> album <em>“Fizzy Fuzzy Big & Buzzy</em>” when it came out back in the day, of course I loved the hits “Down Together” & “Banditos” but the album just didn’t connect with my 13 year old brain. Not like <strong>Bush</strong> or <strong>Everclear</strong> (or even better <strong>Korn</strong>). <span style="font-size:78%;color:#008000;">[side note still love <strong>Everclear</strong> today and listen to the 1st third of their discography on a very normal basis]</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:85%;color:#000000;">HOWEVER, in the past couple of days I have become well aquainted with the earlier workings of <strong>the Refreshments</strong> and find them quite addicting and just fun to listen to. Before <strong>the</strong> <strong>Refreshments</strong> were signed to a major label they were rockin’ it independent style with they’re first effort <em>“Wheelie”</em> & EP counterpart <em>“</em><a href="http://www.mediafire.com/?gzfnniymydg"><em>Lo, Our Much Praised Yet Not Altogether Satisfactory Lady</em></a><em>”. </em>I’ve come to really love the track <a href="http://www.mediafire.com/?ytym4oawz4j">“Los Angeles”</a> on it which is actually the only exclusive track amongst the two releases. Anyone interested in an mp3 copy of <em>“Wheelie” please leave a comment, Thanks thats it for now…</em></span></p> <p><em><span style="font-size:85%;color:#000000;"></span></em></p> <p>oh, also go check out crystal method’s site for a <a href="http://thecrystalmethod.com/index.php">free remix</a>! and you can stream their new album.. I’m digging it more then the last couple of releases.</p>Chrishttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12868332368633237657noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7975930856423522190.post-31220050158529056372009-07-26T20:04:00.001-07:002009-11-01T21:10:27.134-08:00Filter Remixed<p><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhufwkcHAtjLybhzcdLS3t6pwfHiNyK-dOWwEn10EzfNSbE4XhYZuxbDjdw7xHXHo1Uz05ZihjdIk-4Wy30G6h3VAahzVpCYc2JOFQsi59Can6enom-H1_4Bm9feNy7bO3A5vxx2nwrsp4S/s1600-h/GDWD2GFAQ626R7TB22BGDCHGS3T6X3W3%5B1%5D.jpg"><img style="border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; margin: 0px 10px 5px 0px; display: inline; border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px" title="GDWD2GFAQ626R7TB22BGDCHGS3T6X3W3" border="0" alt="GDWD2GFAQ626R7TB22BGDCHGS3T6X3W3" align="left" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhgLojN2m1WhrJApdtT17bWxq2mms_0U2ePNdu5buR3d9UkA6owb0RLf36HeOSYam0d5uZA6JEaoc7B2opbN50rWjl54sa0vB4l_Ktp7Mt0dmVlkb-DYWDYlDXVRZf6Nveo0KlhDl8O-i9g/?imgmax=800" width="240" height="137" /></a> </p> <p>The other weekend I went to <strong>Pittsburgh, PA</strong> and various parts of <strong>Ohio</strong> for my birthday. We stopped in Pitt to hang out with my friend <u>Sarah</u> who knows all the good vinyl record shopping hot spots, i don’t know if that's true it just sounds nice.</p> <p>I found this SWEET <strong>Filter</strong> 12” for their 2nd single from <em><strong>Short Bus</strong></em> <em>“Dose”.</em> It contains 4 mixes of the song.. and only one is really good but its all very fun to listen to. However I’m feeling lazy lately and don’t feel like transferring anything from vinyl. So instead I did some digging and got a whole bunch of remixes from the <em><strong>short bus</strong></em> era of <strong>Filter</strong>. I hope you enjoy them</p> <p><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhZv1nYMPH7ZJuldHNhyURvaUeOsjwHHn0FkfN8IGpA1YPfvdU7KxzMoiYDHkqNKy-8wDvIR4brXD2zG9prGCzP5PXyjtihvVrFa4bcWtItKjlGJJt3zGf7dkpgW39wPimdBD1PITKeXXvS/s1600-h/dose%5B1%5D.jpg"><img style="border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; margin: 0px; display: inline; border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px" title="dose" border="0" alt="dose" align="right" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhYUAghLwjpulyBinZ-XtCQpDC9LwXID71Q5Yj_olzYOyBttK_ilhRF6akTZgQnq0Vlx5W0sNfeXLz3HkARz1R63jCY4MJqW_bh6YmKKCbkcsH0KBmB-trTd4W8wH7xZLvGqHcT1o3YE3EI/?imgmax=800" width="182" height="242" /></a> From the <strong><em>Hey Man Nice Shot</em></strong> Single <br /><a href="http://www.mediafire.com/?wummmerm2yt">Nickel Bag mix</a> <br /><a href="http://www.mediafire.com/?jmzyjw1ynzd">1/4 Pound mix</a> <br /><a href="http://www.mediafire.com/?zywnnrj3cqt">Big Mac mix</a></p> <p>From the <strong><em>One</em></strong> Single <br /><a href="http://www.mediafire.com/?nzlml53ltmg">Jurrassitol (Drum & Bass mix)</a> <br /><a href="http://www.mediafire.com/?ymmofoykjh5">Dose (Triple-sect Mescaline Mix)</a>*</p> <p>From the (<strong><em>Can’t You) Trip Like I Do</em></strong> Single <br /><a href="http://www.mediafire.com/?moz0mzyjjmy">Danny Saber Remix</a></p> <p><span style="font-size:78%;color:#ff0000;">*this mix is on the 12” i found</span></p> <p> </p> <p>I hope you all enjoy these as much as I do. if for some reason someone see’s this post and wants more I’ve got some other cool stuff holstered, but I need comments to get momentum. the 12” i found contains one more mix that isn’t posted here plus an instrumental of the Mescaline mix.
